Customer Review: LOVE IT
I GOT THIS TV AT A STEAL FROM A CIRUIT CITY DISCOUNT OUTLET FOR JUST 890 DOLLARS IT WAS STILL NEW AND IN THE BOX. I HAVE HAD IT FOR A YEAR NOW AND STILL CAN SAY IT LOOKS AND WORKS BETTER THAN THE NEW SETS IN THE STORES FOR 2500 DOLLARS OR MORE. I HAVE MY COMPUTR HOOKED UP TO IT AND THAT IS SO AWESOME I STILL DROOL ON IT WHEN I USE IT THAT WAY MY COMPUTER HAS BLU RAY SO I WATCH BLUE RAY ON IT AND IT IS AWESOME. I HAVE A SAMSUNG HOME THEATER HOOKED UP TO IT AS WELL AND THE ANY NET SYSTEM MAKES THEM WORK AS ONE UNIT THRU THE TV’S REMOTE. WHEN PEOPLE SEE THIS SETUP THEY ALWAYS LOOK DUMBFOUNDED WITH ITS SLICK OPERATION. IF YOU CAN STILL FIND ONE BUY IT YOU WONT BE SORRY.
Customer Review: 4 Years old and still going strong…
My HLP-5085 is 4 years old and still going strong. Over 8000 hours on it and still on the original lamp! I do have a spare ready just in case. Have had zero service issues with it. There are, however, two design anomolies. 1. With the integral stand, your component (receiver, DVD Player, etc…) storage options are limited to the funky stand made for this TV. 2. Direct-access to the input ports doesn’t work. It makes programming a remote, especially the “too smart for their own good” Logitech remotes, extremely difficult. Attempting any sort of programming to directly switch to the HDMI, DVI or other ports simply doesn’t work. You have to use the “Cycle” method, and that also fails most of the time. The best thing you can do is put the “Input Next” button and code on the front page of all your device screens so it’s handy. Other than that I have zero complaints about this TV. The new 61 LED 1080p units are dropping in price like a rock. Less than $1800 for the top of the line 61″ set! I’m going to wait until it hits $1500 then I will bite. I’ll probably give this one to my sister as I’m sure it will be still running strong in a year.

Customer Review: Can’t afford to operate the camera
I purchased the Samsung camera about 3 months ago thinking it would be a great camera to take along on my vacation to Alaska in August. Sure am glad I bought it early! I couldn’t afford to buy batteries for this camera. On several occasions, I only got 6 pictures out of one set of batteries. I have an older digital, took the batteries out of the Samsung (It indicated they were dead) and used them in the other camera for 20 more pictures. I recently bought another camera to use on my trip, anyone want to buy a Samsung S730? Cheap!!!
Customer Review: Great pictures but terrible battery life
I bought this camera to use while hiking and otherwise away from a constant supply of batteries. If you buy this camera, you better bring huge supply of batteries with you. For instants, once in a while I would get maybe 20 or so photos before it shut down, sometimes only 3 or 4 and a couple times it would not start up with store fresh Duracells. It always seemed to shut down when I needed it the most. On the positive side the pictures look great, the camera has easy to use controls and the supplied Windows software works well. All in all I suggest you look elsewhere for a digital camera.

Customer Review: Nice Camcoder
Hi ! First of all I wanna say that this is my first Camcorder that i ever bought in my life .. I like it and its great because you can bring with you everywhere and its light. The images are good outside and not so bad indoor.. for sure is not a camcorder with 3ccd but its ok…. The audio is great , I was amazed about the quality of audio.. I don’t like too much the case because is too small and its a little boring to put the camcorder inside it .. The software ( VideoStudio SE ) that the company give for edit the video is nice but it hasn’t got a converter from .VSP to .AVI or other kind of format.. so i advise to find another Edit Video Editing software. Anyway.. this Camcorder is great for people that want a nice and easy stuff to make video for family , concerts and sport.. Its very easy to put the video into the pc , its like a photo camera.. In two second you have your video into your pc in format .AVI and you start to edit it with an other Edit Video Editing software :). So my rewiew is positive ![]()
Customer Review: GREAT Camcorder and does excellent DVD resolution if you know what you’re doing
Hi, I’m a California Teacher that uses this camcorder to make educational videos for the web, teacher trainings, iPod, and dvd. I also use it for family and goofy stuff, but not as much as my educational work. PROS: It’s tiny, black, and stylish. This camcorder can take video that’s quickly transferred to your PC via an SD card slot. Uses a high speed 10 mps(NOT HSHC) cards. It’s easily the smallest camcorder I’ve used with superb video quality. CONS: plugging raw video you’ve shot directly to a tv/ flat screen looks weak. You need to process it according to your output. If it’s the web, publish to around 1.0 mps. Clarifying NOTES: Without getting into too many details, if you plan on burning DVD or publishing to an iPod, you should always edit your video in the raw mPeg4 format at then save to AT LEAST 3.0 Mps (DVD quality) in 640×480 format. That’s been the biggest confusion on this camcorder. If you publish a video with 1.0-2.5 mps, that’s great FOR THE WEB, not for a dvd or an iPod you’ll use to display on a TV/ projector/ LCD flatscreen. There’s numerous reviews on YouTube and other video sites that present and post subpar quality video to a site only to have the site code to flash. Trying to review high quality video or devices by using YouTube is hilarious. Check out Vimeo or other video publishing sites that allow you to see high resolution videos that do non-flash video. Oh, I partner this up with a little monster, adjustable tripod, and they both produce fantastic student council productions and other videos. I hope this helps. -E.

Wide Color Enhancer/Cold Cathode Flourescent Lamp
| The NTSC (National Television Systems Committee) has established the color standards all TVs in America try to meet. And typical LCD TVs only meet about 72% of this standard. Samsung LCD HDTVs use Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp backlights to give you 92% coverage of the NTSC standard, ensuring truer, more breathlessly vivid colors.
Samsung’s exclusive Wide Color Enhancer technology delivers more brilliant colors, even in bright areas of the picture where blues and greens are washed out on conventional screens. The system displays wider color reproduction, showing you truer colors - the fresh green of spring foliage, the intense blue of the summer sky. |

Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA)
![]() |
You already know something about digital living. There’s the TV and digital video recorder in your family room. (And another set in your bedroom.) You have a PC and digital printer in your office, along with a network attached storage device. And you’ve copied all your music onto your portable music player and haven’t had to open a CD case for years. But getting them to talk to each other can be pretty tough. Why is it still so difficult to send digital content from one device to another?
Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) is a collaboration of the world’s leading consumer electronics, PC and mobile companies that has created design guidelines for a new generation of products that can work together — no matter the brand. Think for a moment about all of the photos “locked away” on your home PC that you wish you could access while entertaining your friends and family. Now, thanks to DLNA enabled devices, a DLNA-enabled PC can be accessed from the comfort of your living room or family room via a DLNA-enabled HDTV, where you can enjoy your memories with friends and family, without having to deal with the hassle and non-intuitive “PCexperience”. Or, say you recently downloaded your daughter’s birthday party video from your digital camcorder to your PC. Now you want to share it with your parents who are visiting. Without DLNA, you probably have to burn a DVD of the video or hook up the camcorder to the TV. With DLNA, you can just use your TV’s remote to call up the video on your TV. That’s it. |

Audio Features
TruSurround is a patented SRS technology that solves the problem of playing 5.1 multichannel content over two speakers. TruSurround delivers a compelling, virtual surround sound experience through any two-speaker playback system, including internal television speakers and headphones. It is fully compatible with all multichannel formats up to 5.1 channels. High-quality virtual surround sound can be experienced with just the two hidden, downward-firing side-mounted 2.2-channel dome speakers built into the TV.
SRS TruSurround XT technology delivers an amazing, simulated 3D effect with clear dialog and powerful bass.
TruSurround XT audio also adds three audio enhancement technologies to produce an amazingly immersive sound experience.
- Dialog Clarity brings movie dialog into Focus during the playback of any surround-encoded material to make speech much clearer and crisper.
- TruBass creates incredible deep rich bass allowing a person to perceive significantly deeper, richer low bass tones that are far beyond the physical low frequency capabilities of the speaker itself.
- The SRS WOW feature widens the soundstage by processing standard two-channel stereo material as well as multi-channel encoded material for a dramatic improvement in the playback of any stereo audio over a two-speaker system.
Stereo broadcast reception is offered for MTS and SAP with 181-channel capacity. A sound leveler keeps audio volume consistent during channel changing.
Which Size HDTV is Right for My Room?
![]() |
With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience.
If you know the size of the room you have already, where you want to sit, and where your new HDTV should go once you get it, you can figure out the size HDTV you should get.

Customer Review: Very happy with my decision to buy from Amazon
This TV is excellent and I love it. Much has been said about this TV already so I can’t add much. I do not have any HDMI components yet and I wish it had more S-Video or RCA connections. Amazon service is the best! The TV was delivered before the promise date and delivery was very smooth. Delivery company called and scheduled the appointment and then I got a call from the driver around 30 minutes before delivery time. I will definitely buy again from Amazon.
Customer Review: So close!
Great picture, nearly perfect…BUT..I bought it for installing in a tv lift in the master bedroom. I was able to compare it precisely with our Sony kdl 52xbr lcd. They were both simultaneously connected to the same Direct tv 1080p box, and the same dvd player via an hdmi connection. The picture was a live HD sports transmission..as close to a no compression source as you can get. Result? I set them both up to match as closely as possible, but the Sony picture is just fractionally cleaner/crisper than the Samsung. (I should tell you I have spent the better part of twenty years working on film to tape digital tv post production, and I know artefacts!) The Samsung is great- but you get what you pay for. The Sony isn’t thirty percent better- even though it was thirty percent more costly- but if you want the very best- no expense spared- its still the Sony

Customer Review: Fill In Camera
My Canon PowerShot S50 developed a twitchy on and off syndrome and finally stopped working altogether while on vacation in Germany so I looked at what I could get for about 150 Euros and ended up picking the Samsung L100 with 2 GB RAM. It had image stabilization, more megapixels (8.1) and a percieved quality about it that attracted me, although I didn’t know that I could have gotten it for much less here. I am embarrassed to admit that I had to go back to the store for them to show me how to use the self timer, because the quick start manual didn’t show how and I couldn’t figure it out myself. All I had to do was to press the multi control button right side repeatedly until the timer icon comes up and by pressing the right side of that button repeatedly you select the 2 or 10 second option. Then postion the camera and hit the trigger button and it works fine, with little flashes of light telling you when to get ready by increasing in frequency until it shoots a picture. It has a fairly advanced red eye protection system that works well. I am happy I bought it because the other options available were for more money or for less features at that price. The pictures it takes are very nice.Samsung L100 8.1MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Silver)

Connectivity
![]() |
To make the Series 6 a true entertainment hub for any home, Samsung has incorporated advanced HD connectivity and networking capabilities that expand the HDTV’s functionality. A wide variety of multimedia devices can be connected to the set through any one of the four Simplay compliant HDMI 1.3 inputs (including one on the side), and the handy HDMICEC feature lets you control all your CEC-enabled peripherals using just one remote.
Connect HD digital devices like disc players, game consoles, and satellite dish components into the 2 rear connections and use the side-mounted input for cameras, camcorders, and laptops. HDMI is the best performing interface for displaying an HD source on an HDTV. Once connected, users can easily access device menus and manage and display content through the newly redesigned Wheel Key Remote control and the HDTV’s sophisticated content management interface.

Customer Review: Fabulous TV!!
I received my TV on Sept. 26. I cannot say one negative thing about the TV or the remote that some people have found to be troublesome. The picture is just amazing, the sound is great. I was going to purchase the 46″ 550 series but backed off due to comments regarding the sound. Glad I went for the extra $$$ for the 650 series. The delivery from CEVA was not as great. They showed up as scheduled and brought the TV in and set it up in no time, but between them hooking it up wrong and the HD cable box not working correctly, I was not able to get HDTV until Saturday which required a visit from my cable company. It was clear that the delivery guys, though nice, were in a rush to get out and move on. I felt they were more concerned about making sure they got a gratuity, than making sure the TV was set up properly. All in all, this was a good experience. If you go this route just make sure your TV is up and running before the delivery guys leave your house.
Customer Review: Very satisfied
Have had the Samsung LCD for over a month & very satisfied with all aspects. What surprised me the most was the delivery from Amazon & set-up of the television ! I was expecting a UPS guy to just drop a box off. Instead a private delivery contractor came and even connected the TV & made sure everthing was working, before I signed. The box & packaging materials were even taken away (was offered option to keep in case I needed to return). Ordering through Amazon was great !

Customer Review: Great camera for a great price…
I bought this camera after returning the Nikon coolpix s51. I am so happy that I did. This camera has all the functions you could need and more, not to mention the picture quality is awesome. I was expecting a huge disappointment because of my previous experience with digital cameras but this was a great investment. Customer Review: Great Little Camera - So far I love it…
I bought this camera in July and I have used it on several vacations. The features I like about this camera include the large viewer, the compact size, and the touch screen. The pictures I have taken to date have been great, the camera will compensate for shaking and lighting. Matter of fact, it does pretty much everything a camera can do, including taking videos, recording sound, telephoto, ect. The touch screen is great, you can scroll through your pictures and do camera settings very easily. I am not a camera buff, just a nice lady that likes to take pictures that I can easily download and edit. The negatives have mainly to do with the instruction manual - it is not very user friendly - had to read it a few times to get the gist of how the camera operates. Other than that one item, this camera is worth the price I paid for it and then some.
